Section 01Why servicing, specifically
There is an enormous amount of published material about getting a loan and almost none about having one. That is a straightforward consequence of who funds financial content: origination is where the commissions are. Nobody earns a placement fee when you understand your escrow analysis.
But the origination is a few weeks and the servicing is a few decades. That is where the escrow adjustments, the transfers between servicers, the suspense accounts, the hardship applications and the payoff quotes live — and where a well-priced loan can still cost people money through nothing but unfamiliarity with the process.
Section 02Editorial standards
Four rules, applied to everything published here.
- No invented statistics. We do not publish research-sounding numbers we have not measured. Where we give a typical range, it is labelled as a market convention and paired with an instruction to check your own documents.
- No fabricated testimonials. No customer quotes, no invented case studies, no stock photographs captioned as real people who used a service. None of that exists on this site and none of it will.
- No trust badges we have not earned. No licence numbers, no accreditation marks, no ratings. We hold no lending or servicing licences, because we do no lending or servicing.
- Figures are illustrations. Every calculator and worked example is a teaching device that demonstrates a mechanism. None is a quotation or a statement of what you owe.
Section 03How we are funded
The site is funded by its publisher and may in future carry advertising or sponsored placement. If it does, it will be labelled where you encounter it. We do not accept payment to describe a servicer favourably, we do not sell reader data, and no commercial arrangement changes what the guides say. If those things ever stop being true, this section will say so before the content changes.
Section 04The boundary, stated plainly
| Role | Us |
|---|---|
| Lender or creditor | No. We originate nothing and hold no notes. |
| Loan servicer | No. We hold no accounts and process no payments. |
| Debt collector | No. We collect nothing from anyone. |
| Debt settlement or credit repair | No. We charge no fees and negotiate with nobody. |
| Broker or lead generator | No. We do not sell or pass on reader information. |
| Publisher of servicing guidance | Yes. That is the whole business. |
The practical consequence: we cannot look at your account, apply a payment, approve a hardship program, issue a payoff quote or correct a credit report. Only your servicer can. What we can do is make sure you know what to ask for, what the answer should sound like, and what to do when it does not.
Section 05The publisher
Loan Services Group is published by Sentinel Holdings I LLC, 1613 Evans Ave #530, Cheyenne, WY 82001. General correspondence goes to [email protected] or through the contact page.
Section 06Corrections
Servicing practice varies by product, by investor and by state, and rules change. If something here is wrong or out of date, send us the sentence and we will fix the page. Corrections take priority over everything else in the inbox.
Standing disclosure
Nothing on this site is financial, legal or tax advice, an offer of credit, or a statement about any specific account. Your agreement, your statements and your servicer's disclosures govern.
